  This is a family owned business.This place is a mess.The food is bad. The owners of the place has a negative behavior towards their guests. The first afternoon meal was a sloppy joe and baby carrots. The Sloppy joe was road kill sloppy.The carrots they had was 3rd rate. They put some BBQ sauce and called it Sloppy. Evening dinner consisted off Rice and some kind of sauce...No meat. 90% of the people threw their food out because the food was horrible. It looked like they poured some canned soup over the rice and served it to us. When we asked what is this,they said it was chicken and rice.There was no chicken any where in that camp site.The next meal they said would be spaghetti and meat balls,when we got the meal it was noodles and some spaghetti sauce thrown on top of it.We asked where is the meat,the owner said "I made a mistake". There was no menu available so you could not choose what you wanted before camp. When you go to a camp you expect the food not to be amazing but the food here was the worst. There was not an ice maker on the site so we had to carry ice for a group of 100 people.One of our cabins smelled like something had died inside of it. For someone who wants to have a get together or a retreat this place is not a good choice.

  This place is amazing! They are amazing people and have amazing hospitality. I took a group of 30 and it went well beyond meeting our every need!

  We are deeply saddened by this customer’s remarks. We have been in business 12 yrs, and have never had a negative response, in fact, our customers return frequently for the personal touch, excellent food and family environment. We accommodate a variety of groups and religions. We will pray this group finds a retreat center who can meet their needs.

  We've been to Shady Lakes Ranch three wonderful times. The site was perfect for our needs. Very much enjoyed the feeling of home and of nature that is so abundant there. Hope to return for our annual gathering.
